K-Pop groups are filled with talented members that do their best to give their all to their every performance. But no matter how talent-filled a group might be, only a few artists can make it in the highly-competitive industry.
In 2014, 60 different K-Pop groups debuted, but only 5 are still actively promoting, 11 years later.
1. GOT7
GOT7 debuted on January 16, 2014, with “Girls Girls Girls.”
Although the members of GOT7 have since left JYP Entertainment and signed with new agencies, the group is still active. Not only do the members focus on their solo careers, but they had a group comeback with their 13th mini-album Winter Heptagon in January 2025.
2. AKMU
AKMU (also known as Akdong Musician) debuted on April 7, 2014, with the album PLAY.
Although both Chanhyuk and Suhyun have also focused on their solo careers, they are still active as a duo and most recently released their third mini-album Love Episode in June 2024.
3. MAMAMOO
MAMAMOO debuted on June 18, 2014, with “Mr. Ambiguous.”
While Wheein decided to not renew her contract with RBW in June 2021, she remained with the group for promotions. Similarly, Hwasa left RBW in 2023 to join P-Nation. However, both members are still participating in MAMAMOO’s full group activities, including a special 10 year anniversary video released last year.
4. Red Velvet
Red Velvet debuted on August 1, 2014, with the single “Happiness.”
The group’s contract renewals were a big talking point, with rumors that the majority of the members would be leaving SM Entertainment. In the end, Seulgi, Irene, and Joy renewed with SM Entertainment while Wendy and Yeri decided to part ways. However, both SM Entertainment and the members themselves have stated that they will continue to take part in Red Velvet’s group activities whenever they occur.

5. WINNER
Although WINNER was formed in 2013 through Mnet‘s survival show, WIN: Who Is Next, the group made their debut on August 17, 2014, with “empty”.
While the group has not released any group music since June 2022, they are signed under YG Entertainment together until August 2026.
