6 Netflix Originals Leaving Netflix in May 2025
White Gold – Picture Credit: BBC
Every month, Netflix loses and gains numerous licensed titles, but increasingly over the past few years, we’ve seen Netflix Originals (titles that are exclusively distributed) depart the service, and that’ll continue in May with the likes of White Gold, Inspector Gadget, Richie Rich, and 45 rpm all departing.
You may have noticed we also just updated our “master list” of most of the Netflix Originals that have departed the US (and other regions) in recent years, including all of those through April 2025. You can also refer to our preliminary list of all the Originals leaving throughout the remainder of 2025, although, as always with removals, they are subject to change and renewal.
Before we get into things, just note that another one of the kids’ playlists (technically a Netflix Original) is leaving after only a month. We’re referring to Earth Playlist, which departs on May 1st in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Mexico, the UK, and the US.
Get In (Furie) (2019)
Leaving Netflix Globally: May 1st, 2025

If you follow these Netflix Original posts, you’ll know that most of the shortest Netflix contracts are often with French titles, and that’s indeed the case with a couple on this list, including Get In, the 2019 thriller. It stars Adama Niane, Stéphane Caillard, and Paul Hamy, with the plot surrounding a man returning home from vacation to find his house filled with squatters all sporting horrifying masks. Directed by Olivier Abbou, the horror thriller picked up mixed reviews from critics in its home country upon its release, where it’s known under the name of Furie. It’s sitting at a 5.6/10 on IMDb right now.
Inhuman Resources (Limited Series)
Leaving Netflix Globally: May 15th, 2025
Picture: Arte
First released in France on the network Arte before Netflix acquired the global rights on May 15th, 2020, those are now coming up after five years. Based on the book Cadres Noirs by Pierre Lemaitre, the story of the 6-part series revolves around Alain Delambre, an unemployed 57-year-old who is ultimately lured by an attractive job opening, but it has some downsides, namely, he’ll be used as a pawn in a cruel corporate game. The series boasts a 7.2/10 on IMDb.
Inspector Gadget (Seasons 1-4)
Leaving Netflix in the United States: May 18th, 2025
Picture: DHX Media
Serving as a reboot to the iconic character, Netflix first picked up the show in 2015 as an Original but only in the US. Among the voice cast for the series were Ivan Sherry, Tara Strong, Martin Roach, Scott McCord, Lyon Smith, and Derek McGrath. The plot followed the Inspector facing his old enemy, Dr. Claw, and his global crime syndicate.
The series arrived on Netflix shortly after its initial runs on Teletoon for its first season and second season on Family Channel with season 3 touching down in June 2017 and the fourth and final season in May 2018. Now, seven years later, the show is departing. DHX Media is the distributor behind the show. The series was licensed internationally outside the US but got pulled from the service on January 1st, 2025.
Richie Rich (Seasons 1-2)
Leaving Netflix Globally: May 22nd, 2025
Picture: Netflix
In February 2015, Netflix debuted Richie Rich, a reboot of the classic movie with Macauley Culkin attached, and served as Netflix’s first foray into live-action kids programming. The second old, Project Mc2, debuted a few months later but will remain on Netflix indefinitely, unlike Richie Rich. Running for 21 episodes, the series follows young entrepreneur Richie, who became a trillionaire overnight after discovering how to turn vegetables into energy. Sadly, the series wasn’t very good, with it still being one of the worst-rated series on Netflix according to IMDb, with only a 3.3/10 rating.
White Gold (Seasons 1-2)
Leaving Netflix Globally (Excluding the UK): May 28th, 2025
Originally airing on the BBC before landing exclusively on Netflix internationally, this sharp-edged British sitcom comes from Damon Beesley, best known for co-creating The Inbetweeners. Reuniting James Buckley and Joe Thomas, the series takes viewers inside the chaotic world of a double-glazing showroom, where a ragtag sales team battles to stay on top in a brutally competitive industry. Across two laugh-out-loud seasons, expect fast-paced banter, office politics, and plenty of painfully relatable workplace antics.
Sadly, due to several factors (not least misconduct allegations surrounding the show’s star, which ultimately saw charges dropped), the show never came back for a third season, which is tragic given that this is one of the best British comedies of the last decade.
45 rpm (Season 1)
Leaving Netflix Globally (Excluding the UK): May 31st, 2025
Finally, an underrated Spanish teen romance drama series with a musical slant will be the last Original to say adiós in May. Set over the course of 13 episodes, the series is set in 1960s Madrid, where music producer Guillermo Rojas launches a rock ‘n’ roll label with the help of aspiring singer Robert and clever producer Maribel. Carlos Cuevas, Guiomar Puerta, and Iván Marcos topped the cast with the series created by Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira.
