We’re still several months out from Stranger Things season 5 landing on our screens, with Volume 1 set for release on November 26th. Still, Netflix’s promotional push is now officially underway with the big reveal at TUDUM and more now on the way. After weeks of rumors circulating in the community, it looks like a trailer is finally inbound—Netflix just confirmed it, or at the very least, strongly hinted at it.
As captured by numerous fan accounts for the show, including Stranger Universe, the official account for the show has just sent out a broadcast on one of its social channels stating, “scanning for signal…” along with a satellite emoji.

The last time they posted on this broadcast channel was back on May 30th with an undecipherable voice note, which, of course, was the tease for the TUDUM reveal a day later.
In case you need any more proof of something coming up, Netflix also updated the Stranger Things YouTube account, launching a brand new playlist titled Stranger Things 5. Oh, and just one week ago on July 2nd, Ross Duffer uploaded a picture on Instagram with the caption “On the mix stage…”. On the screen itself, it says “THE FINAL SEASON.” Was this a last-minute edit for the trailer release? We’ll have to wait and see.

When will this trailer touch down? The working theory is most likely Tuesday, July 15th. Why that date in particular? That marks the nine-year anniversary of season 1’s release on Netflix. A touching tribute!
Could the Stranger Things trailer leaks be true?
Warning: The following section contains spoilers. Proceed with caution!
We’ve included the spoiler note here because if you’re really wanting to enjoy the experience of watching this trailer fresh, we’d advise you to skip this section altogether.
In case you missed it, a leaker on Reddit, X, and Discord recently posted intel in late June that a new trailer was on the way and divulged a lot of details. What added weight to his claim was the fact that he’d previously leaked the release dates ahead of their official reveal and confirmation at TUDUM 2025. While we won’t go into additional details, we have verified this is someone with close knowledge of the show’s promotional workings.
Anyway, as excellently rounded up by Stranger Things Spoilers and Qwerty, they’ve summarized what was present in the now deleted Reddit thread, revealing that a trailer would be coming in July and what it contains. Once again, if you want to go into this new trailer completely cold, now is the time to close your tab!
“A leaker who previously revealed details from the #StrangerThings5 TUDUM teaser is back, and now claims to have seen a brand-new 2-minute and 35-second trailer.
Here’s everything he ‘remembers’ from it so far:
– No exact release date, but he says it’s dropping sometime this month.
– More scenes from the military base and the massive wall shown in the TUDUM teaser.
– Vecna is shown walking into Hawkins through the new portal.
– A new kid, possibly Derek, may have abilities.
– One scene shows someone (not Eleven) jumping onto a school bus using some kind of push force. The face is hidden, so it’s unclear who it is.
– Eleven and Mike are seen together again.
– In another scene, Eleven wears the same wetsuit from the Void sequences in earlier seasons, hinting she may be trying to reach someone (Will? Max?) through the Void again.
– Max is only seen in one emotional shot, still in a coma.
– Lucas is crying next to her in what looks like a heartbreaking moment.
– Karen and Holly are seen hiding in a bathtub filled with water, likely trying to avoid a Demogorgon.
– Nancy is shown in a bathroom, hands covered in blood, crying while washing them.”
Some of this seems reminiscent of what was showcased at Next on Netflix 2025 to journalists in the US and around the globe via satellite. However, it certainly seems a bit beefier than what we got to see, which was Hawkins in absolute chaos and the military trying to get a grasp on the situation.
Unlike most Netflix Originals, which arrive at midnight, that won’t be the case with Stranger Things, at least according to the Media Center, with episodes set to drop at 5 PM PT or 1 AM GMT. As a reminder, here’s the schedule:
- Episodes 1–4 – November 26th, 2025 at 5:00 PM PT
- Episodes 5–7 – December 25th, 2025 at 5:00 PM PT
- Episode 8 – December 31st, 2025 at 5:00 PM PT
There you have it – hopefully that signal will be cleaned up very soon and we’ll all get to watch the new Stranger Things trailer. As soon as we get more, we’ll post it!
