K-Pop Idol Declares Suspension Of Activities After Being Reported Missing

He expressed his desire to leave the group.

BAE173’s J-Min has announced that he will suspend his group activities to focus on his new group, Close Your Eyes, which will debut in April. However, the agency is claiming that this is a breach of contract.

According to media outlet Tenasia, J-Min reportedly declared to the group and PocketDol Studio that he wanted to stop BAE173’s activities. In a phone call with BAE173 member A, they stated, “J-Min wanted to stop group activities to focus on CYE activities. I was sad when I heard that, but his determination seemed firm, so I couldn’t stop him.”

BAE173’s contract between J-Min and PocketDol Studio is until 2027. The contract with J-Min and Close Your Eyes is three years, which is longer than the BAE173 contract period. This means that BAE173 may have stopped activities by the time he finishes CYE’s activities.

Member A added, “It would be nice to promote team activities with J-Min. But if he wants to quit, how can we stop him? He also felt sorry. I told him to do whatever he wants.”

Member A mentioned that they would still continue group activities.

We’re still going to try our best with the remaining members. The opportunity to make a comeback doesn’t come to just anyone. We are scheduled to return in April or May. After J-Min announced his intention to leave, we haven’t contacted each other.

It was also revealed that he did not attend the BAE173 fan meeting that was held last month.

Previously, J-Min was selected as one of the seven members of CYE through JTBC’s audition program, Project 7.

During the process of writing the contract for Close Your Eyes, a dispute began between PocketDol and Close Your Eyes’ agency. In order for J-Min to debut as a member of Close Your Eyes, all parties must sign the contract. However, PocketDol refused, stating that the contents in the contract were different from what was revealed before appearing on the show.

With this, contact between J-Min and PocketDol was cut off. PocketDol reported J-Min as missing to the police last month, stating that “the whereabouts of our artists our artist is unknown.” 20 hours later, J-Min, BAE173 members, and PocketDol officials met together at the company.

It was at this time J-Min expressed his desire to stop activities with the group.

While PocketDol claimed that the contract stated that he could continue his existing activities even if selected as a final member, Close Your Eyes’ agency responded that all agencies were fully aware at the time of the contract that if a “participant is selected as a final member, they cannot engage in outside activities without prior approval.”

Meanwhile, J-Min has not responded to the matter.
