Many wonder if the show should be canceled instead.
Recently, an online community board garnered much attention for the lack of ticket sales for the SMTOWN Live concert in Mexico City.
The concert, which is scheduled to be held on May 9, seemed to suffer from empty seats despite the lineup.
A screenshot of the ticketing site revealed a ton of seats that were still available for purchase.
Seeing this, many Korean netizens felt it would be better to cancel the show.
- “Wouldn’t it be better just to cancel instead? Seems like they are going to be in a deficit.”
- “SM seems to be weak overseas…”
- “It’s not that they don’t have fans. It’s because the prices are ridiculous.”
- “If they have that many seats empty, they should just cancel.”
- “The prices seem to have decreased since it’s Ticketmaster.”
- “Who is this concert for anyway.”
- “But why aren’t they the good seats, and where are the side and back seats? Did they release more?”
- “It’s because the prices are expensive. The front seats cost over 1,000,000 KRW ($~ 692.28 USD).”
Previously, the Seoul leg of the SMTOWN Live concert was held on January 11-12 at the Gocheok Sky Dome.
