In 2021, trainee Hu Yetao appeared in Produce Camp 2021, where he ranked 23 and made it to the final episode.

The popular trainee’s visuals attracted attention throughout the show, showing an impressive ability to switch between masculine and feminine looks. Hu Yetao addressed the discussions about his gender identity connected to how he presented himself during a live stream, explaining that he was a boy who did not limit himself in his expression.

Hu Yetao’s visuals do rival those of a member of a girl group and he has expressed more of himself on his social media accounts.

During the February 9 episode, Hu Yetao performed for the judges, impressing them with his performance. His stage left a deep impact on BamBam, who stated that for the first time he felt like a man was attractive, and even used pick-up lines on him.
