Welcome back to a slightly belated but returning top 10 report – did you miss us? Below, we’ve got all the biggest stories from the most recent top 10 release drop which contains new figures for the 40 most watched shows and movies split into English language and non-English language.

Note: In this report of Netflix’s hours viewed from June 2nd, 2025, to June 8th, 2025, we’ll use “Complete Viewings Equivalent,” or CVE, expressed in millions. That means we divide the hours viewed announced by Netflix by the runtime of films or series. It allows for better comparisons between films and series, but it’s not an audience metric. It is the minimum number of viewings if they were all complete from the first second to the last of the film or season.

1. Ginny & Georgia still rule supreme

The release of the second season of Ginny & Georgia was a sensation in January 2023, with very strong numbers that led Netflix to renew the show for two more seasons. One of those two seasons was released last week and is off to a very good start, with 17.6 million CVEs in its first four days, almost in line with Season 2, showing only a slight drop of 0.8 million CVEs.

A very strong hold that suggests the series could see a few more seasons. In fact, the two previous seasons have returned to the Top 10. Broadening the comparison to other third seasons of Netflix series released on a Thursday, Ginny & Georgia has broken the record previously held by Outer Banks.

2. K.O. packs a punch

Let’s talk a bit about French films now, as K.O. is off to an excellent start with 14 million CVEs in its first three days, placing it alongside Ad Vitam, AKA, The Takedown, and Restless. What sets K.O. apart from these other titles is that it achieved this feat without a well-known lead and with minimal promotion, even in its home country. A truly strong launch, and not necessarily one that was expected — we’ll be watching closely to see how it progresses.

3. Tyler Perry’s Straw

Another somewhat surprising success this week is the launch of Straw, the new film from Tyler Perry, which achieved the third-best opening of 2025, ahead of The Electric State, despite likely costing only 5% of its budget. This wasn’t an expected outcome either, as Tyler Perry’s successes are usually confined to the U.S. That may still be the case here, but if so, it would imply some very strong U.S. numbers — something we’ll be watching closely in the coming days and weeks with the Luminate and Nielsen charts.

4. Criminal Code returns with a whimper

Season 1 of Criminal Code was a bit of a breakout hit upon release, becoming one of Netflix’s most-watched Brazilian series. But Season 2 is heading in a very different direction despite a newfound push with a glossy spotlight on TUDUM. With a sharp drop of nearly 60% compared to the numbers for Season 1, that’s not good at all.

5. The Survivors

I watched one episode of The Survivors, and that’s as far as I’ll go, everything felt absolutely terrible, from the acting to the writing. That said, the global launch has been quite solid, with 5.3 million CVEs in its first three days, making it the best launch for an Australian series released on a Wednesday.

Expanding the scope to all English-language but non-U.S. series, it ranks as the third-best launch in my dataset. Not a disgrace by any means — but I’m expecting a drop-off in the coming weeks, simply because the show is just plain bad.

6. Mercy for None, watched by a lot.

Hailing from South Korea, the miniseries Mercy for None delivered the best launch for a Korean series in 2025 so far, with 4.9 million CVEs in its first three days.

7. Sara – Woman in Shadows

It’s also a solid start for the new Italian series Sara – Woman in the Shadows, which reached 6.1 million CVEs in its first six days — a much stronger launch than Brigands: Quest for Gold and Suburraeterna, two other Italian series that were also released on a Tuesday.

Expanding the scope to all European series released on a Tuesday, Sara – Woman in the Shadows scores the third-best launch in its first six days, behind The Breakthrough and The Glass Dome.
