Judge Finds ADOR And NJZ’s (NewJeans) Trial To Be A “Special Case”

Netizens felt that even the judge was flustered with the arguments.

On April 3, the first pleading trial for ADOR’s lawsuit against NJZ (NewJeans) to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract was held.

Before starting the trial, the judge asked both parties if there was a possibility of an agreement or mediation.

While ADOR responded that they “hoped for an agreement,” NJZ’s attorney stated that the defendant’s mental state was “not in a situation where an agreement can be considered at this time.”

During the trial, ADOR revealed that while the group stated they could not promote without Min Hee Jin, their actions revealed otherwise, contradicting their claims.

However, NJZ argued that the breakdown of trust was the main reason for the termination of the contract and that after Min Hee Jin was ousted, the agency changed into a new management team with different values.

ADOR added that Min Hee Jin left on her own.

Min Hee Jin was not kicked out but left on her own accord. We asked her to take on producing even when the court ruled that replacing the CEO was legal. She left, saying she wouldn’t do it unless we made her CEO.

However, after hearing the arguments from both sides, the judge felt this case was different from others.

I’ve seen many cases of idols wanting to terminate contracts because of settlement issues, but this is a special case. Isn’t the breakdown of trust an abstract concept? I will have to think about how to take on this case because each person feels differently about trust.

Netizens agreed that the judge must’ve been flustered at this type of trial.
