Singer Kwon Eunbi revealed that her income changed drastically and she became a building owner after gaining attention as the “Waterbomb Goddess.” Although she had still been earning her keep before that, the festival catapulted her fame to above and beyond.
During a YouTube interview show with Super Junior D&E, Eunbi declared that as the original “Waterbomb Goddess,” she does not feel any pressure from the other rising Waterbomb stars. She also revealed that the performance had actually made her nervous. Never would she have realized that she would hit it big after the show.
“It was my first event in Seoul. It was also my first time standing alone on such a big stage, so I was really nervous. You never know when or where someone might hit it big. I never expected that performance would make me so widely recognized. My stage time was 1 PM. Usually the crowd fills up in the evening, so at that time, there were a lot of empty spots. People were enjoying it, but I was thinking, ‘Am I doing well?’ and ‘What if no one shows up?’ I came home after finishing the schedule, and suddenly the response exploded — I couldn’t believe what was happening.”
Eunbi went into detail about her income. She divulged that the ratio between her income before and after Waterbomb was 3:7. She admitted that after going solo, she was able to rake in the profits alone. She ended up making enough to buy a building in the affluent district of Seongdong-gu for ₩2.40 billion KRW (about $1.69 million USD).
