A suspect has been arrested and charged with the murder of a part-time singer and married mother of three, who was found deceased by her female housemate. Following his arrest, police revealed what they believe to be the motive for the murder.
The body of the victim, 52-year-old Ling Lu Cheng, was discovered two days after her housemate overheard an argument between Ling and her 54-year-old boyfriend Hong Yew Peng. They two had been renting a room together in a shared house in Taman Seri Mangga, Malaysia. When the housemate opened the door to Ling and Hong’s room to check up on them, she saw the deceased lying in a pool of blood.
According to Central Melaka District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit, a post-mortem examination confirmed that the manner of death was homicide and that the victim died from a total of 14 stab wounds, including a fatal stab wound to the aorta on the left side of her chest. On March 6, Hong was charged with causing the injuries that led to the victim’s death.
The experts confirmed that the deceased sustained 14 stab wounds; three on the face, five on the chest, five on the left forearm and left hand, and one on the right calf.
There were also slash wounds on the deceased’s chest and left hand and bruises on the left side of the forehead during the external examination of the victim.
