Welcome to the long-awaited return of what’s new on Netflix. This is your weekly recap of everything new added to Netflix over the past seven days, which saw 16 new movies and 13 new series added in total. We’ll also check in with what’s currently trending in the Netflix US top 10s.

Just a bit of housekeeping before we move on – lots still to look forward to throughout the remainder of July 2025, with next week’s highlights including the brand new limited series UNTAMED starring Eric Bana

Now, let’s get into some highlights from this week:

What to Watch on Netflix This Weekend

Sullivan’s Crossing (Seasons 1-2)

Number of episodes: 20
Rating: TV-PG
Language: English
Genre: Drama
Cast: Andrea Menard, Morgan Kohan, Chad Michael Murray
Writer: Roma Roth

There’s a big new show taking over the Netflix charts, and it comes from the same source material that has helped Virgin River grow into one of Netflix’s most-watched (and now longest-running) series. We’re referring to Sullivan’s Crossing, which airs first on The CW in the United States but is now being exposed to a much larger audience courtesy of its pickup from Netflix

As we reported today, you don’t have long to wait until season 3 drops on Netflix either. Our intel suggests it’s scheduled for a release next month, just months after it premiered on The CW.

Sneaky Pete (Seasons 1-3)

Number of episodes: 30
Rating: TV-MA
Language: English
Genre: Comedy, Crime, Drama
Cast: Giovanni Ribisi, Marin Ireland, Shane McRae
Writer: Bryan Cranston, David Shore
Runtime: 60 min / 1h 0m

Another licensed show making its way onto Netflix this week to get your teeth stuck into is Sneaky Pete, one of Prime Video’s (then Amazon Originals) first ever releases in the form of Sneaky Pete. Although distributed by Amazon, the show’s underlying rights are with Sony Pictures Television, which has opted to license the show out and thus, a Netflix first – a Prime Video Original is now streaming!

Although the show was ultimately cut short and most agree it wasn’t nearly as good by the third season as it started, the show is still an entertaining watch, thanks mostly to the performance by Giovanni Ribisi.

Too Much (Season 1)

Number of episodes: 10
Rating: TV-MA
Language: English
Genre: Comedy, Romance
Cast: Will Sharpe, Megan Stalter, Aylin Scott

Netflix is teaming up with Lena Dunham on multiple projects, with her big new movie currently in production in New York City as we speak. Coming up first, however, is a brand new British-infused comedy series that tells the fish out of water story of a heartbroken American moving to London for work and a clear head. She quickly becomes entangled with a pub musician.

I have managed to watch quite a large amount of this show personally and while there are good elements, quite a few of the characters I found to be insufferable (perhaps that was the point) and verge on being caricatures of different groups which made the show a slog despite there being many laugh out loud moments and a fantastic performance by Megan Stalter. Much like Girls from HBO, I suspect this show is very much love it or hate it – I’d recommend giving the first two episodes a go to see which camp you fall in.

What Time Will Season 3 Of Squid Game Be On NetflixWhat Time Will Season 3 Of Squid Game Be On Netflix

No surprises here – Squid Game is still dominating the charts in the US over the past few days, although its position next week looks far less given that Sullivan’s Crossing has been surging in recent days. The Waterfront is also still going incredibly strong in the United States, now a month after release, suggesting a season 2 renewal is incredibly likely. It’s also been a slow start for Building the Band, which has received a lot of press push, but audiences aren’t tuning in just yet.

  1. Squid Game (77 points)
  2. The Waterfront (63 points)
  3. The Sandman (54 points)
