Happy first of the month! As we head towards the July 4th weekend, Netflix has added numerous new movies and some excellent new series to kick off July 2025. In addition to the usual rotation, Netflix added a special rotation of new comedy movies that have been licensed for a limited time. Here’s your complete guide to all the new arrivals for July 1st, 2025.

You can find an expanded version of this on our What’s New on Netflix hub page, which features posters, trailers, and additional information about each title. Also note that a number of the movies added today aren’t available on Netflix’s ad-tier

As mentioned in the headline, part of today’s arrivals includes a comedy collection launched by Netflix to celebrate the careers of those who have been on Saturday Night Live. Titled the SNL Alumni Film collection (id: 1076905), 16 new movies launched as part of that collection featuring alumni such as Chris Farley, Mike Myers, John Belushi, Adam Sandler, Kenan Thompson, and Will Ferrell.

Of the new arrivals, we’d recommend watching: Zoolander, Anchorman 1 and 2, and Happy Gilmore, given that we’re just weeks away from the sequel dropping on our screens

Mission Impossible Collection

Given the new movie is still playing in theaters, it feels opportune (albeit a few weeks too late) for almost the entire collection of Mission: Impossible movies to come to Netflix in the US. Many of these have streamed on their own before, but this marks the first time that five movies are available on the service together, and it’s the Netflix debut of Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, which has never been on the streamer before.

If you’ve never seen these movies before, they’re all utterly fantastic and are arguably the US’s best answer to James Bond, with the franchise being Tom Cruise’s most iconic role.

Want to watch the film franchise in order? Here’s how to do it:

  • Mission: Impossible
  • Mission: Impossible 2
  • Mission: Impossible III
  • Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol
  • Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation

For the remaining movies, Fallout and Dead Reckoning, you’ll need to jump over to Paramount+. The Final Reckoning remains in select theaters at the time of publishing.

Mom (Seasons 1-8)

Netflix has lined up a robust slate of licensed titles throughout July, which goes some way to stem the bleeding from Disney and HBO shows leaving over the next few months. One of these shows is another Chuck Lorre favorite in the form of Mom, which concluded its long run on CBS four years ago. With 170 episodes hitting Netflix today, this comedy starring Anna Faris, Allison Janney, and Sadie Calvano will keep you occupied for quite some time. The synopsis reads, “A single mom recovering from alcoholism struggles to raise her kids and maintain her sobriety with — or in spite of — the advice of her mother.”
