It was recently revealed that Park Bo Gum kindly took the blame for a staff’s mistake during the filming of When Life Gives You Tangerines.
The staff told the tale while working on a clay model of Gwan Sik. Allegedly, the staff had been one of the three art team members on set. They had accidentally left their iPad next to a clay jar where Park Bo Gum’s character, Gwan Sik, was sitting. The iPad made it into the shot by mistake. As the staff was getting antsy, Park Bo Gum noticed the iPad and quickly asked for a reshoot, blaming his acting. Park Bo Gum quickly gave the iPad to the staff member and told them that no one had caught on!
During the filming, things were so hectic that I accidentally left my iPad next to the clay jar where Gwan Sik sat. The scene was even approved. But do you guys know what Park Bo Gum said? He saw the iPad and told the director, ‘I think my acting is a little awkward. Can I see the monitoring video?’ He covered up for my mistake and spoke about it as if it was his fault. He then handed me my iPad and winked as he told me, ‘don’t worry, you didn’t get caught.’ Please take responsibility, for after that, the three members of the art team have fallen for you and can’t get out. Two of them are guys, and one of them…is me.

Thanks to Park Bo Gum, the art team members got away with their mistake, which could have been fatal! The newly filmed scene made it to the final product and the rest is history!
