NMIXX‘s Lily is going viral after seemingly calling out the toxic nature of K-Pop fans.
During a recent broadcast, Lily was asked to sing off-pitch, which was done because Lily is known as a strong vocalist and always sounds amazing.
Yet, Lily’s response sparked huge reactions. She said she wouldn’t do it out of fear that someone would take the clip and use it to try to say she wasn’t a good singer, adding that she knew how the internet worked and how it could be a cruel place.

“It’s all fun and games until someone takes just that part and is like, ‘oh you guys think she’s a good singer?’ come on! I know how the internet works… this is a cruel place!” pic.twitter.com/551Ef5spA1

The video went viral with over 5 million views and 32.8 thousand likes. Netizens shared how Lily knew the deal and with everything happening in K-Pop, she knew it wasn’t worth risking anything, even if it was for fun, in case people took it the wrong way and used it against Lily in the future. Fans also pointed out that it shows how toxic the community is where idols are scared to have fun in fear of the reaction.

She’s so right, people already do the most to try to discredit Nmixx’s vocals if they had a clip of her singing off key we’d never hear the end of it https://t.co/c2IaM2vahY
