An actress who earned the nickname “Nation’s Daughter” is currently embroiled in a scandal involving an alleged assault, a traffic accident, and a drug test.
Hirosue Ryoko is a popular Japanese actress and singer who has appeared in dozens of films and television series since the 1990s, including Wasabi (2001)and Departures (2008). On April 8 at around 12:20 a.m., Hirosue allegedly assaulted a female nurse and was arrested at the scene, Shimada City General Medical Center in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The nurse reportedly suffered abrasions from the incident.
The alleged assault occurred after Hirosue, who was showing signs of emotional instability at the time of her arrest, caused a highway collision and was transported to the hospital to have her minor injuries treated. There, she allegedly kicked and scratched the nurse who had tried to stop Hirosue from wandering.
After being arrested on suspicion of assault, Hirosue voluntarily underwent a drug test and tested negative for illegal drugs and alcohol. According to the latest reports, the actress has now reached a settlement with the nurse, and her representatives have apologized to the affected parties. Prosecutors have released Hirosue without indicting her as the investigation continues.
