After numerous successful projects on Netflix, Tyler Perry has another film in development with the streaming service. Titled Doing Life, the upcoming drama film will star Jay Reeves and Naomi Barker as the two leads. The whole cast has been revealed, and the film is currently in pre-production.
Doing Life is an upcoming Netflix Original drama film written, directed, and produced by Tyler Perry, who has already produced several movies and television shows for Netflix, such as A Fall from Grace, A Madea Homecoming, A Jazzman’s Blues, Mea Culpa, The Six Triple Eight, Straw, Madea’s Destination Wedding, Beauty in Black and She the People, to name a few.

Serving alongside Perry as executive producers are Angi Bones and Tony L. Strickland.
What is the plot of Doing Life?
Plot details are limited, but Netflix has provided some information on what the feature is about:
“Doing Life is a gritty and gripping urban drama that explores the life of a single mother fighting for survival and a reformed ex-con with untapped talents who forge an unexpected bond.”
Who are the cast members of Doing Life?
It has been confirmed that Naomi Baker and Jay Reeves will lead the ensemble cast of Tyler Perry’s latest Netflix movie.
Naomi Baker is a relatively new face in acting, with her acting credits to date limited to the series All American: Homecoming and the film A Lifeguard’s Obsession. However, she has two more projects yet to be released: the film Hard Feelings and the TV series Paranormal Nobodies.

This is the second Netflix feature film starring Jay Reeves, which also happens to be his second film with Tyler Perry, following his role as Private Hugh Bell in The Six Triple Eight. He is most well-known for starring in the sports drama All American as Shawn Scott, as well as in films such as The Tax Collector and Safety.
