On March 10, 2025 (KST), an exclusive report from The Joongang shared that Wheesung was found dead in his home. Wheesung’s agency, TAJO Entertainment, confirmed the soloist’s passing and asked all to refrain from speculative rumors.

He was found in his home in a state of cardiac arrest and passed away. Our company’s artist and executives are mourning alongside the deceased’s family. It is heartbreaking to share this sad news to his fans who have shown him so much support and love. Please pray for the deceased so that he can rest comfortably. Since then, it has also been confirmed that “The Story” concert, scheduled for March 15, 2025 at the EXCO Auditorium in Daegu, can no longer proceed. Fans remain heartbroken as, up until his passing, Wheesung expressed his excitement for the event through social media.
