They also revealed how much money they earned.

Two former K-Pop idols are unfazed by hate comments nowadays, having experienced worse remarks back when they were K-Pop idols. They recently revealed some of those comments in an interview.

Tasha Low is a Singaporean actress, singer, and former leader of the K-Pop girl group, SKarf. Like Tasha Low, Ferlyn G was also a member of SKarf, and she has since made her acting debut. SKarf was a five-member girl group under Alpha Entertainment that debuted in 2012 and disbanded in 2014.

Both ex-idols are now part of the cast of the 2025 Singaporean series Emerald Hill – The Little Nyonya Story.  In a recent episode of Mediacorp‘s The Hot Seat, a video series on Instagram, Tasha Low and Ferlyn G discussed Emerald Hill, but also the criticism they received from their own manager while they were idols.

Tasha Low said, “Back in Korea, our manager told me that my face looks like a monkey,” shocking the host. When he asked what her reaction was, she said she felt, “Hurt. Very hurt.”

“I had an experience that was quite a blow to me. It was also with our manager,” Ferlyn G confessed next. “When I was having a conversation with them, I was maintaining eye contact, but they were scolding me. They said, ‘What right do you have to look at me in the eyes? Look at the ground.’”

Ferlyn G told the host that she did as she was told…but in her mind, she kept cussing the manager out! “They didn’t even see you as people,” the host replied. “You are really just a product in a production line.”

When asked if they felt that they made more money after coming to Singapore, Tasha Low said, “We didn’t earn any money in Korea.”
