Earlier this week, the popular instant noodle brand Indomie Mi Goreng announced the opening of an exclusive NewJeans pop-up store from May 1 to May 13 in Sungsu-dong at Sungsu Station, Seoul. Soon after Team Bunnies announced that they would be hosting a demand survey for online orders of the pop-up store’s postcard set.

Netizens Baffled As NJZ Fan Account Becomes First To Post Official Information About Activities

On April 26, KST, ADOR released an official statement, which many felt was clearly directed toward Team Bunnies and its involvement in the Indomie pop-up store. In the notice, ADOR warned fans about “unauthorized fan accounts and fan communities” that were allegedly trying to collect personal data “under the pretext of a demand survey.”

Hello,
This is ADOR.

NewJeans is currently active as a promotional model for the Indomie brand, and the upcoming Indomie Mi Goreng pop-up store is an official event organized by a partner company with prior approval from ADOR.However, ADOR has not requested or been involved in any promotional activities or personal information collection through fan accounts.

We have identified some attempts to collect personal information under the guise of pre-event surveys via certain fan accounts and communities.
We kindly ask fans to be cautious and avoid any harm that may result from these activities.

Thank you.

After ADOR’s statement, Team Bunnies responded on the same day, revealing that they were approached by the pop-up organizer and importer for this survey. According to their statement, the organizers contacted them on April 23, KST, with a proposal to inform fans that a limited edition ramen pack was avaialable for one month, aiming to prioritize online sales.

Team Bunnies clarified that they communicated with the stakeholders through email and phone calls, and decided to proceed with a pre-demand survey to determine how much stock had to be allocated for online sales. They also refuted ADOR’s claim of collecting personal data, stating that they were only recording the intended purchase quantity.

The fanbase also clarified that the pop-up store could legally operate without any prior approval as per their contract terms. A reputed Korean media outlet, Ilgan Sports, also confirmed that the importer had specifically requested Team Bunnies for their help regarding online pre-sales and demand survey.

Team Bunnies’ response has made things even more confusing for fans, who are divided on the matter since the group itself is on an unofficial hiatus due to their ongoing legal dispute with ADOR. Read more about it here:
